Our Co-op Kid Approved tasting program provides parents and children with a unique opportunity to sample, explore and stimulate their palette with great tasting, organic, healthy and wholesome foods with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Throughout the year we will host Co-op Kids tastings for everyone to enjoy. We feature many products as well as options for kids to create their own trail mixes, smoothies and more.
Kids know what they like and we want to hear what they have to say about wholesome, healthy foods. Each product we sample is voted on and those that are overwhelmingly approved join our special selection of Kid Approved products. These products are tagged throughout the store and represent tasty, organic and healthy foods that kids have proven they love.
Though our program is young, we have been surprised by both the enthusiasm of our voters and the products they picked as the top of their list. While products like Annie’s Bunny Grahams and Stretch Island Fruit Leathers have done well, the favorites have been unexpected. Kids have loved making their own smoothies from organic yogurts and fruit, dipping celery sticks into locally produced Pepita Nut Butter from Northern Michigan or our own house-made Grain Train Beet Hummus, and slurping down samples of Barlean’s Omega Swirls fish oil. Kids continually impress us with their excitement for foods and flavors.
