First of all, because it's your co-op! Owners are always encouraged to get involved with their co-op, and what better way to do that than to volunteer your time at the store!

Save money!

Owners who give just four hours per month will receive a 10% discount at the register for 30 days.

Know your store!

You'll know more about your store.  Giving just a few hours of your time a month gets you in touch with the store.  You'll be able to better find products and you'll know the Grain Train staff members better.

What would I do?

Participating Owners fill a wide variety of roles at the Grain Train, everything from unloading the truck and stocking shelves to working in the kitchen.  We can always use help with keeping the store clean and looking great too.  We have Owners that we see weekly and Owners that we see occasionally.  We can work around your schedule and make it convenient for you.    Owners can play an active role in creating the right position for them.  We have so much that can be done, we can design a job around you.

Some current positions open:

• Package Grocery: Around the first of the month we can use extra hands to change signage and prices.
• Bulk: We can always use help in bagging bulk items.
• Unloading the truck: We get our big orders on Monday and Friday afternoons and Wednesday mornings and can always use help with unloading the truck.
• Demos: We have samples out on Member Appreciation Day, and we'd like to find the perfect person(s) to set up sample tables and demos.
• Cleaning: As always, we can use help keeping the co-op clean.  We can always use help wiping off shelves, cleaning cooler doors, dusting, and mopping.
• Outreach:  We are currently recruiting Owners who would like to help us teach the community about what we do and why.
